The Quran as God's fully detailed guidance, mercy, and sole source of law, with the Paradise promised to those who follow it, leads this May 2002 issue. A poem thanks God for everyday blessings, and a parent's note for Mother's Day and Father's Day explains that children honor their parents most by worshiping God alone.
O people, enlightenment has come to you herein
from your Lord and healing for anything that troubles your hearts, and
guidance, and mercy for the believers. (10:57)
This scripture has been revealed to you - you shall not
harbor doubt about it in your heart- that you may warn with it, and to
pro-vide a reminder for the believers. You shall all follow what is re-vealed
to you from your Lord… (7:2-3)
We have given them a scripture that is fully detailed,
with knowledge, guidance, and mercy for the people who believe. (7:52).
W hen you pick up the Quran and start to read
its verses you will begin a wonderful journey that
will take you through the endless joys and
riches of the words that God has sent down to mankind. As you read and
study its verses a world of untold treasures, knowledge and wisdom will
guide you to the path of the Almighty, Most Wise. The Quran is a beacon
that can lead you to the success and glory of eternal life. It will lead
you through this minefield of sin and vice to the glory of God’s
kingdom here on earth.
The Quran is God’s blessing and mercy to mankind. It fulfills
God’s promise to Adam and his descendants:
…When guidance comes to you from Me, those who follow
My guidance will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. (2:38)
The Quran gives us warnings of the consequences
of disbelieving in God and His proven word. It details past disbelieving
communities and the consequences that befell them for rejecting God’s
words. The disbelievers can never succeed.
It offers us hope, knowing that we all can sin, but God is the Most
Merciful and even Moses was accepted as a prophet after killing a person.
It gives us good news of an eternal Paradise that gives us everything
that we desire (43:71) and even more if we follow the guidance of the
Almighty.

The Treasure
The Quran is our weapon to help us in the continuous struggle against
Satan the rejected. It is the guiding light in the darkness of ignorance;
our port in a dark and turbulent sea. With it we can climb to great
heights of deliverance, without it we sink into the depths of despair
and rejection. The glory of God’s light shines through the
beauty and wisdom of His words.
We must thank God for the great blessing that He has sent down
to us out of His infinite mercy. We have in our possession a book,
translated from the original by the grace of God in a language that
we understand, to guide us in the right path. In it everything we
need to know is made clear.
God made the Quran easy to learn (54:17); flawless and perfect
(18:1); consistent (39:23), with no contradictions (4:82), or ambiguity
(39:28), available to all those who sincerely seek Him with an open
heart and mind.
The Quran is a fully detailed book and we are reminded not to take
anything else but the Quran as a source of law, for God’s
word is complete in truth and justice and nothing shall abrogate
His words. (6:114)
The whole purpose of the Quran is to guide those among mankind
who wish to submit their lives to the will and design of God Almighty,
for it is He who hears our every word and knows our every action
be it small or large, good or evil.
This scripture is infallible; a beacon for the righteous
who believe in the unseen, observe

was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you, and with
regard to the Hereafter, they are absolutely certain. These are
guided by their Lord; these are the winners. (2:2-5)
The prize for the winners is that God rewards them with Paradise.

They relax therein on luxurious furnishings. They
suffer neither the heat of the sun, nor any cold. The shade covers
them therein and fruits are brought within reach. They are served
drinks in silver containers and cups that are translucent. Translucent
cups, though made of silver; they rightly deserve all this. They
en-joy drinks of delicious flavors from a spring therein known as
Salsabeel. (76:13-18)
Serving them will be immortal servants. When you
see them, they will look like scattered pearls. Wherever you look,
you will see bliss and a wonderful dominion. On them will be clothes
of green velvet, satin and silver ornaments. Their Lord will provide
them with pure drinks. This is the reward that awaits you, for your
efforts have been appreciated. (76:19-22)
We have revealed to you this Quran; a special revelation
from us. (76:23).
Absolutely, God’s allies will have nothing
to fear, nor will they grieve. (10:62)
God’s blessings are limitless. The Quran is just one of
those merciful blessings that has been bestowed upon us by our Lord,
but rarely is the human being appreciative.

Even Though When I
Whine, the Blessing is Mine
Today, upon a bus, I saw a girl with golden hair and
wished I was just as fair.
When she rose to leave, I saw her hobble down the aisle. She had
one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, a smile. Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I
have two legs, the blessing is mine.
I stopped to buy some candy. The boy who sold it had
such charm. I spoke with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it’d do no harm. And as I left, he said to
me, “I thank you, you’ve been so kind.
It’s nice to talk with people like you. You see,” he
said, “I’m blind.”
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have two eyes, the blessing
is mine.
Later whilst walking down the street, I saw a little
child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play. He did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said, “Why don’t you join
the others, dear?”
He looked ahead without a word. And then I knew, he couldn’t
hear.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine. I have two ears, the blessing
is mine.
With feet to take me where I’d go.
With eyes to see the sunset’s glow.
With ears to hear what I’d know.
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.
I’ve been blessed indeed, the world is mine.
Even though our breakfast table never looks like the
magazine photos.
There are many who are hungry/starving in the ghettos. Oh! God forgive
me when I whine.
Even though the routine of my job is often monotonous,
There are those whose struggles are mountainous.
Oh! God forgive me when I whine.
Even though I grumble and moan about my fate from
day to day and wish my circumstances would change today, Oh! God
forgive me when I whine.
Thank you God, for my life.

A NOTE
FROM A PARENT TO CHILDREN
With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day around this time, we are
reminded of God’s commandment to honor our parents—not just
one day, but everyday. It’s such an important commandment as the
Quran mentions it right af-ter the first commandment:
We made a covenant with the Children of Israel:
“You shall not worship except GOD. You shall honor your parents
and regard the relatives, the orphans, and the poor. You shall treat the
people amicably. You shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give
the obligatory charity (Zakat).” But you turned away, except a few
of you, and you became averse. (2:83)
All the children in my life are beautiful blessings from God—especially
my own. To watch you grow and learn is a reflection of God’s perfect
design. Although I sometimes lose sight of it, you are signs of God’s
mercy and richness that He has honored me with.
As with most blessings from God, however, there is a responsibility that
comes with you—to guide you to worship God.
Now, getting back to the commandment to honor your parents. If I may
speak for all parents who believe in God, the greatest honor you can bring
me is to worship God as He should be worshipped. This lets me feel that
I have fulfilled the responsibility that God has blessed me with. If you
do what God wants you to do, obey His commandments and study His word,
you honor me more than cards or words ever could. Thank God for the blessings
He has given me through the children around me.

Had you witnessed Jacob on his death bed; he said
to his children, “What will you worship after I die?” They
said, “We will worship your god; the god of your fathers Abraham,
Ismail, and Isaac; the one god.
