How do we know we are not saying about God what we do not know?

Satan Prohibits Lawful Things

2:168 O people, eat from the earth’s products all that is lawful and good, and do not follow the steps of Satan; he is your most ardent enemy.

2:169 He only commands you to commit evil and vice, and to say about GOD what you do not know.

Human beings have a tendency to extrapolate more out of the Quran than what we have. An example of this is debates regarding what happened to the magicians who followed Moses and Aaron (7:120, 20:70, ). Some people argue that they were killed, while others say they weren’t. Some argue that if they were killed would they have gone to heaven or hell.
