Submitters Perspective
December 1985
The Quran's mathematical miracle as physical proof of its authenticity, and the opposition to it from Muslim religious leaders who reject its discoverer, Rashad Khalifa. The issue reports letters inviting heads of state across the region to join the United Islamic Nation and rule by the Quran alone. It predicts that Saudi Arabia and Iran will fall within two years if they refuse.

November 1985
The Quran's 19‑based mathematical code is applied to the awaited Hidden One, the Imam Zaman or Mahdi of Shia and Sunni expectation. Pointing to 19 x 74 = 1406 AH and matching numerical values, it argues that Satan made an idol of the Twelfth Imam, while the true savior is Al‑Quran Al‑Kareem itself. Muslims must return to the Quran alone, abandoning sects and inherited traditions.

October 1985
Imam Zaman, also called Al Mahdy, the promised savior, is announced as present now, with his identity to be revealed in the coming special issue. The issue lists claims to be supported by physical, mathematical, and Quranic evidence, including that he will unite all Muslims and lead the United Islamic Nation. Planned articles on the futures of Iran and Saudi Arabia are postponed.

September 1985
The Tucson Declaration of September 15, 1985, the first day of 1406, announces a United Islamic Nation from Morocco to Indonesia, with Mecca as capital and the Quran alone as its constitution. It ties the date to the number 19, invites the region's governments to join, forecasts shrine demolition and a final clash with Gog and Magog, and schedules annual conventions.

The Quran's mathematical code based on the number 19 is traced in previous scripture through excerpts from a 900 year old Jewish mystical text. Rabbi Judah the Pious counted nineteen mentions of the Holy Name and 152 words in a morning prayer and forbade any change to its text. The number 19 is presented as God's stamp on scripture and the universe.

July 1985
A Nigerian Muslim's letter asks Dr. Rashad Khalifa how to answer a Christian evangelist's attacks on the Prophet Muhammad over Zeid's wife, family ties, war spoils, and divorce, with editor's replies and the Quran's mathematical miracle offered as proof. A second piece explains the key to the Quran: believing it complete, perfect, fully detailed, and the only source of religious guidance.

June 1985
Kassim Ahmad's review of The Computer Speaks: God's Message to the World, reprinted from Arabia, presents the Quran's mathematical code based on 19 and its proof that the Quran is God's message, perfectly preserved. His follow-up letter defends Dr. Khalifa's reading of the end of the world. A verse count adds evidence that the last two verses of Sura 9 are false injections.

May 1985
Rashad Khalifa predicts that Fahd will be the final Saudi king after a senior Saudi scholar denies that the Basmala has 19 letters and the Quran 114 suras. He also recounts how his early computer data reported the correct counts of the letter N in Sura 68 and of the word God despite errors in his input. A continuing essay urges Muslims to obey God and the Prophet by not exalting Muhammad.

April 1985
The Quran's mathematical miracle based on the number 19 and the claim that God has forsaken the Arabs, who alone reject and fight it, illustrated by a Saudi cleric's opposition at a Vancouver lecture. A continued article argues the last two verses of Sura 9 are false, citing the two witness rule, Ubayy Ibn Kaab's account, and Meccan verses in a Medinan sura. It closes by announcing the era of God alone.

March 1985
A special bulletin argues that the last two verses of Sura 9 are false additions to the Quran, citing classical accounts that they failed the collectors' source multiplicity criterion and nine violations of the mathematical code based on the number 19. Rashad Khalifa compares this to the alteration of Ishmael's name to Isaac in Genesis 22:2 and invites all Muslims to examine the evidence.

February 1985
Purging man-made innovations from Islam begins with obeying the Prophet, which means upholding the Quran alone, since excessive love of the Prophet has turned into disobedience, as with making distinctions among God's messengers. An editorial announces the unveiling of the Miracle of the Quran at Masjid Tucson, and a letter to Muslim prisoners presents incarceration as a possible blessing that leads to God.
