GOD is the Creator of all things, and He is in full control of all things.

God alone is the Creator, and the Quran presents creation as the clearest proof of that. "GOD is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Supreme" (13:16). He brings things into being by command: "to have anything done, He simply says to it, 'Be,' and it is" (2:117). He created "the heavens and the earth, truthfully" (6:73), "and no fatigue touched us" (50:38). No one shared in this work. God says, "I never permitted them to witness the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor the creation of themselves" (18:51). Dr. Khalifa explains that God knew Satan and his supporters would choose wrongly, so they were kept from watching the process (18:51). The Quran's argument against idols rests on the same point. It asks whether the idols "created creations similar to His creations" (13:16), and it asks people how they can set up idols beside the One who created the earth (41:9).
The Quran describes how the universe came to be. "The heaven and the earth used to be one solid mass that we exploded into existence" (21:30). The sky was "still gas" when God commanded it and the earth to "Come into existence" (41:11). Creation took "six days" (7:54, 10:3, 11:7). Dr. Khalifa reads these days as "simply a yardstick." The vast lifeless universe took two days, while the tiny earth took four, because the food, water and oxygen for its inhabitants "had to be precisely calculated and arranged" (11:7 footnote, 41:9-12). He adds that this also teaches that there is life only on Earth (41:9). God made "seven universes in layers," and the reader is invited to look for a flaw and fail: "Look again and again; your eyes will come back stumped and conquered" (67:3-4). When the Quran says "we" about the lowest universe, Dr. Khalifa takes it to acknowledge that angels handled certain jobs there. The creating itself belongs to God alone (41:12).
Human beings get a closer account. "From water we made all living things" (21:30). God "started the creation of the human from clay" (32:7), from "aged mud, like the potter's clay" (15:26). Each person is then formed "in your mothers' bellies, creation after creation, in trimesters of darkness" (39:6), through stages the Quran names: the hanging embryo, the bite-size fetus, then bones, then flesh (23:14). The Quran tells people to study this: "Roam the earth and find out the origin of life" (29:20). In Appendix 31, Dr. Khalifa concludes that evolution is a fact, but a divinely guided one. It happens only within a species, and humans did not descend from monkeys. He argues that the laws of probability rule out haphazard evolution across species. In Appendix 38 he adds that the number 19, which runs through the Quran's mathematical code, also shows up in nature as God's signature. One example: the human body has 209 bones, which is 19x11.
Creation has a purpose. "We did not create the heaven and the earth, and everything between them, in vain. Such is the thinking of those who disbelieve" (38:27). God created them "for a specific purpose, and for a finite interim" (46:3). That purpose is a test: He created everything "in order to test you, to distinguish those among you who work righteousness" (11:7). He "created death and life for the purpose of distinguishing those among you who would do better" (67:2). The human being's purpose is worship: "I did not create the jinns and the humans except to worship Me alone" (51:56). Dr. Khalifa's Appendix 7 explains why we are here at all. Humans failed to take a firm stand with God's absolute authority during Satan's rebellion. Out of mercy, God created this world and these bodies of clay to give us a chance to denounce that crime and be redeemed.
The first creation is also the Quran's main proof of the second. God "initiates the creation, then repeats it. This is easy for GOD to do" (29:19). "Just as we initiated the first creation, we will repeat it" (21:104). It asks the doubters: "Were we too burdened by the first creation? Is this why they doubt resurrection?" (50:15). Making the heavens and the earth is a greater task than making human beings (40:57). It follows that raising the dead again is no strain for the One who made everything in the first place.
The Quran asks the reader to look at creation and think. "In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day, there are signs for those who possess intelligence" (3:190). It also says, "Let the human reflect on his creation" (86:5). Rain bringing dead land back to life, the winds, and the variety in our languages and colors are all called proofs for those who understand (2:164, 30:22). That reflection should lead somewhere: to recognizing that only the Creator deserves worship. "Such is GOD your Lord. You shall worship Him. Would you not take heed?" (10:3).

Do the unbelievers not realize that the heaven and the earth used to be one solid mass that we exploded into existence? And from water we made all living things. Would they believe?
*21:30 The Big Bang Theory is now supported by the Creator's infallible mathematical code (Appendix 1). Thus, it is no longer a theory; it is a law, a proven fact.
Say, "You disbelieve in the One who created the earth in two days,* and you set up idols to rank with Him, though He is Lord of the universe."
*41:9 The "days" of creation represent a yardstick. Thus, the physical universe was created in two days, while the calculation of provisions for all the creatures on earth required four. This also teaches us that there is life only on this planet Earth.
He placed on it stabilizers (mountains), made it productive, and He calculated its provisions in four days, to satisfy the needs of all its inhabitants.
Then He turned to the sky, when it was still gas, and said to it, and to the earth, "Come into existence, willingly or unwillingly." They said, "We come willingly."
Thus, He* completed the seven universes in two days, and set up the laws for every universe. And we* adorned the lowest universe with lamps, and placed guards around it. Such is the design of the Almighty, the Omniscient.
*41:12 God alone created the universe (18:51), but the angels participated in handling certain jobs in the lowest universe. Our universe cannot stand the physical presence of God (7:143). The plural tense acknowledges the angels' role in our universe (Appendix 10).
Your Lord is the one GOD; who created the heavens and the earth in six days,* then assumed all authority. The night overtakes the day, as it pursues it persistently, and the sun, the moon, and the stars are committed to serve by His command. Absolutely, He controls all creation and all commands. Most Exalted is GOD, Lord of the universe.
*7:54 The six days of creation are allegorical; they serve as a yardstick to let us know the relative complexity of our infinitesimal planet Earth—it was created in "4 days" (see 41:10).
The One who created death and life for the purpose of distinguishing those among you who would do better.* He is the Almighty, the Forgiving.
*67:2 See the Introduction and Appendix 7 for details of the purpose behind this world.
He created seven universes in layers. You do not see any imperfection in the creation by the Most Gracious. Keep looking; do you see any flaw?
Look again and again; your eyes will come back stumped and conquered.
Have they not seen how GOD initiates the creation, then repeats it? This is easy for GOD to do.
*29:19 We learn from the Quran that evolution is a divinely guided process. See Appendix 31 for the details.
Say, "Roam the earth and find out the origin of life."* For GOD will thus initiate the creation in the Hereafter. GOD is Omnipotent.
